The International Music Star Search 2022 for the global music community is proudly brought to you by Australia Guild of Music Education (AGME) and International Performing & Visual Arts Examination Board (IPVAEB).

Music Star Search will contribute 1% of your registration fee to remove CO₂ from the atmosphere

The International Music Star Search 2022 is an Online Video Submission Examination with a Competitive Spirit. Candidates will be assessed and graded in accordance to the marking scheme as follow:

Distinction:  90 - 100

Merit:           75 - 89

Pass:             60 - 74

Ungraded:    59 and below

All candidates (except for the ungraded group) will be awarded two certificates, one from Australian Guild of Music Education and the other from International Performing & Visual Arts Examination Board in respect of their registered grade level.

Distinction achievers will be invited to perform at the Live Stream "HALL OF FAME" Final.  There are attractive trophies and cash prizes to be won.

INTERNATIONAL MUSIC STAR SEARCH 2022

RULES & REGULATIONS

Kindly read the Rules & Regulations on this page before registering for the event.  Registration is to be completed via the online registration form.  If you encounter any issue relating to registering online, please write to us at: starsearch@ipvaeb.org.

The International Music Star Search is a Duo-Certificate Examination with a Competitive Spirit.  The event is conducted digitally via video submission according to the requirements stipulated below, and it is open to all nationalities. All the videos will be assessed according to the marking scheme, and the candidate will receive two certificates (one from Australian Guild of Music and another from International Performing & Visual Arts Examination Board) based on his/her marking score awarded.

Marking Scheme:-

Distinction:          90 - 100

Merit:                   75 -  89

Pass:                     60 - 74

Upgraded:           59 and below

All distinction scorers will be invited to perform at the HALL OF FAME livestream concert, and will stand a chance to win trophies and cash prizes (see Awards & Prizes).   

Selected Distinction Achievers will only need to perform any of the two pieces at the "HALL OF FAME" Star Search livestream concert;

Registration Fees:

The International Music Star Search is divided into 9 categories below:

Grade 1 -              S$150.00

Grade 2 -             S$180.00

Grade 3 -             S$200.00

Grade 4 -             S$210.00

Grade 5 -             S$220.00

Grade 6 -             S$290.00

Grade 7 -             S$300.00

Grade 8 -             S$320.00

Dip. IPVAEB        S$380.00

General Rules & Regulations

1.    There is no age limit to participate in this event as the entry is based entirely on musical grade;


2.    The International Music Star Search is open to the following instruments:

 

 

 

3.    All entry fees are non-refundable and are indicated in Singapore Dollar (SGD) unless otherwise stated. Music Star Search and its affiliates (AGME and IPVAEB) do not account for or have any liability for any participants' bank fees and/or other related charges.

4.   Closing date for registration is 15th May 2022, 12am.  A S$25 late registration fee will apply for registration after closing date.

5.   Video Submission Date:  30th June 2022


6.    Performance Repertoire:

Grade One to Eight: Four pieces are required to be performed within the allowable time limit. Two contrasting pieces must be selected from the respective grade levels of the AGME/IPVAEB exam syllabus. The remaining pieces may be of your own choice of the equivalent standard. Étude may also be chosen as one of the four selections.

 

Professional Diploma Level: Four pieces are required to be performed within the allowable time limit. Two pieces must be from the AGMA/IPVAEB exam syllabus. The remaining two pieces may be of your own choice. All participants at this level must memorize all pieces.

 

Note:

We accept repertoire of equivalent standard from all other major examination boards. The repertoire must be submitted to: starsearch@ipvaeb.org for approval prior to registration.

 

7.   Time duration for each grade:

Grade 1 -         15 - 18 minutes

Grade 2 -        15 - 18 minutes

Grade 3 -        15 - 18 minutes

Grade 4 -        12 - 20 minutes

Grade 5 -        12 - 20 minutes

Grade 6 -        20 - 24 minutes

Grade 7 -        22 - 25 minutes

Grade 8 -        25 - 30 minutes

Dip. IPVAEB   30 - 35 minutes

8.    All video recording must be in one-take, in full body coverage with clear visibility on musical instruments.  Candidate is to speak clearly to the video recording instrument to identify him/herself.  Candidate must pause for a few seconds between pieces.  

9.   The candidate must perform the repertoire according to the list submitted on the registration form.  He or she maybe disqualified if the repertoires performed are different from the registration form submitted.

10.  Please refer to the suggested repertoire listed here, or you may use any repertoire of equivalent standard from any major international music examination boards
